The Day of Master Hacking

So, for those of you who pay attention to the two14 website, you know that Jonathan got banned from the "Wall". I think I accidentally banned Colin as well, but that's cause his IP Address showed up in the midst of all of Jonathan's ramblings. Well, Jonathan became very heart-set on hacking the web site. Since that feat is impossible given my programming experience, I thought I would make an easier and more fun challenge for him.

I bring my laptop up to church almost every Sunday to run the lyrics during worship time. This week (and following weeks if they can't figure it out this week) on the desktop there will be a file. A Microsoft Word file named "Delete Me, I Dare You!" It's a valid file, they'll be able to open it up and everything. The challenge: DELETE THAT FILE! That's all they have to do. Note: I'm saying "they" now because Jonathan's obsession soon became Colin's as well. Jonathan knew that in his inferiority he had no chance, so he recruited Colin.

Sounds easy right!? Well, we'll see........

Yes you will see!!

I think I will just type "deletree" or whatever it is and delete it all. That is still following the rules right? Mwahahahaha!!!!

My money is going to have to be on Colin and Baker, because eventually they will mess your computor up so much it wont function enough to turn it on. Granted, they might not delete the file (though my faith is strong in them), but you will never know because there is a big hole in your monitor. From a chair.

colin, you're making a pretty bold assumption that you'll actually be able to access my registry and/or the command line. good luck with all that. but in answer to your question, try anything you'd like.

oh and jake...how much money would you like to put on colin?

Don't forget me! I have strength where braing fails!! Hint: I like the chair idea... I can just start opening up the inside of your computer and pull things out until it deletes the file or your entire hardrive. But we are hoping not to come to those desperate measures!

You need more links on your blog Jason.

$5 on Colin. Why, you may ask? One word: magnet. If this breaks the rules of engagement, then my bet is off =P.

More links? Why?

The contest is over, Taylor actually figured it out. In face, he used a method that I hadn't previously thought of until Sunday morning when it was too late.

Taylor is just a cheater! I did not get to touch the computer at all!! I think that we still need to find another way to do it! We will find another way and it will hurt you!!

I actually have a magnet that is so stong it could rip the skin of you bones.... it has happened to me... it hurt... but I think that would work...

Oh, I know that it would take no small ammount of magnitism to do the type of damage I proposed. I was thinking of a magnet the size of a large platter. You know, like one of those super magnets that could attract and repel thousands of pounds. I'm not saying it's the most practical way to erase the hard drive, I'm just saying it would be the funnest. And funniest. I also think that Colin and Jonathan deserve another shot at it, because neither of them got very much of a shot at it before other people started hogging the computer. I propose that this time, they get the computer to them selves with all the anti-deleting stuff you can throw at 'em Jason. The Taylor insident should have been illeagal, and now they have been robbed of their chance at $20.

They may not have my $20, but they still have my respect. As a consolation prize, I won't hurt them too bad during football tomorrow night.

...or maybe I will.

I second Jake's proposition!
